A big thank you to all the residents who take the time to let us know about gas lamp faults around the Estate. Your reports are incredibly helpful and help us ensure issues are dealt with as quickly as possible.
π οΈ Some of the more common faults we encounter include:
β’ Pilot lights blowing out during high winds
β’ Insects or dirt blocking the jets and restricting gas flow
β’ Faults with the mechanical clocks that control the lamps
β’ Damaged or defective mantles, which can reduce light levels
During the winter months, the Estate team allocates time each day to inspect and check reported faults. For more complex repairs, the British Gas engineers are on hand to get lamps back into full working order.
πIf you spot a lamp that isn’t working properly, please don’t hesitate to let us know. You can report faults quickly and easily using the interactive lamp map. Simply click on the affected lamp and an email notification will be generated automatically, alternatively please contact the Estate Office.
Thank you for helping us keep the Park Estate’s historic gas lighting network shining brightly. β¨
