Road surface temperatures are forecast to drop to -4.5°C this evening, so all roads will be gritted tonight. Salt can be spread either before or after frost, ice, or snow has settled, but it loses effectiveness at around -6°C and needs to be disturbed by foot or vehicle traffic to activate. Please be cautious on less frequently used roads, as they may still be slippery.
