The damaged rising bollard at the Peveril Drive entrance is scheduled for replacement on Wednesday, August 7th. If all goes as planned, both bollards will be back in operation on the same day.
An unregistered vehicle hit the bollard with such force that it crumpled the steel tube which forms the bollard meaning it was unable to fully retract. As a result, the bollard had to be cut off to reopen the entrance. The damage was severe enough to necessitate a completely new unit. The driver did not stop to report the accident, so the incident was reported to the police and CCTV evidence was provided. NPEL will recover all costs from the driver.
