Gully Cleansing

There are over 300 gullies on the Estate roads that take away surface water, we have these emptied once a year after leaf fall.

The gullies are designed to collect debris in the base which is sucked out to ensure the outlet is kept clear, the pit is then filled with water to ensure that it is draining away. If it isn’t they jet the lateral drain to the sewer to ensure the water can flow away. In extreme circumstances we have to excavate to unblock the lateral drain to ensure the gully is functioning correctly.

These works will be taking place on Monday 11th March – Wednesday 13th March, see plan attached. Please can we ask residents and their visitors to not park over the kerb side gullies between 08:00-16:00 on the relevant day so the contractor can gain access.
